This is not technically a memoir, because I can't actually remember it (I was 6 years old at the time!). But my Dad can; he was at the game, or at least part of it!

He had tickets for the match, and there was traffic delaying his arrival in Liverpool. (I'm telling this story in the way he told me, btw). As a result of the delays, Dad and his friends were late for the match. They were listening on the radio as they drove up, and had just parked when Arsenal went 1-0 up. They ran into the ground, and witnessed Michael Thomas scoring the second!
